New hunt Painter, Sailor, Soldier, Giant announced!11th May 2010 After the supernatural stylings of Shadows of the Slums, we decided it was about time we introduced you to the more human side of London – the figures, both well-known and obscure, that we’ve come to know and love. There are so many brilliant, barely-believable personal stories that have gone into making London what it is. Painter, Sailor, Solider, Giant is our tribute to the eclectic, whimsical and downright fascinating characters who have played their part in the development of our city. Trace their stories through the leisure and legal heartlands of London – you never know who you might meet! Our hunters are beavering away as we speak, but a release date has yet to be confirmed, so watch this space for updates! The hunt is on – at the top of Battersea Power Station!26th April 2010 On Sunday 2nd May, two of our intrepid hunt writers will be among the first ever people to abseil down the iconic Battersea Power Station, raising money for Mines Advisory Group (MAG) in the process. Click here for the full story of our historic descent. If you’d like to sponsor our daredevils, you can do so at www.justgiving.com/vandenbrims . All money donated goes directly to MAG, a UK-based landmine charity that saves lives by locating and removing landmines and unexploded bombs from countries affected by conflict. However, by the time the Underground came along in 1868 this name had fallen into disuse and the new station was given the ploddingly descriptive name of South Kensington. So play your part in resurrecting Albertopolis by signing the petition at: http://www.petitiononline.com/RenameSK City Hunt relaunches1st March 2010 London Treasure Hunts is thrilled to announce a brand-spanking new version of the City hunt. London Treasure Hunter makes Krypton Factor Final24th February 2010 London Treasure Hunter Ed Brims, continued his winning streak last night by securing a place in the Krypton Factor 2010 final. Similar to his nail-biting first round appearance, Ed was comfortable in the first round, but a dodgy performance in the observation task left him trailing. However the tables were turned with his decisive run in the assault course and general knowledge round. Ed will now go up against the three remaining finalists on 9th March in the final race to see who will be Krypton Factor champion 2010. London Treasure Hunter has the Krypton Factor28th January 2010 Congratulations to Ed Brims, who successfully secured a place in the Krypton Factor semi-final on Tuesday night. Ed, a regular contributor to London Treasure Hunts, had mixed fortunes in the early rounds, but powered through the assault course (probably helped by all that running around London he does) and shone in the general knowledge round to take victory. Here at London Treasure Hunts, we’re waiting with bated breath for Ed’s semi-final, currently due to screen on the 23rd February. London Treasure Hunts on the Krypton Factor16th January 2010 London Treasure Hunts would like to wish the best of luck to contributor Ed Brims, who is among the contestants in the latest series of the Krypton Factor. In next Tuesday’s episode, Ed will pit himself against three other contestants in tests of mental agility, observation, general knowledge and the dreaded assault course. We may be biased, but here at London Treasure Hunts we believe Ed is a bit of a general knowledge guru. He’s always finding little-known and bizarre facts to populate our hunts and Twitter feed - londonhunts. We think he could have the right combination of brains and brawn to go all the way.
