About London Treasure Hunts

London is your playground

London Treasure Hunts aims to encourage tourists and residents alike to discover London. We create self-guided treasure hunts, suitable for all ages, which will help you get the most out of your time in the capital.

We'll take you beyond the picture-postcard landmarks to show you London's eccentricities, its tucked-away gems and the relics of Roman, Medieval, Tudor and Victorian times that litter its streets and alleyways. London is one of the oldest metropolises in the world and its vibrant, valiant and sometimes violent history is still visible today.

So take your time to browse the London Treasure Hunts site, contact us if you have any questions and, above all, enjoy London!

Our Team

Our hunt writers are constantly scouring every inch of the city to create treasure hunts that are meticulously researched, cunningly constructed and filled with the most eye-popping little-known facts we could find! So, who are they?

Edward Brims

Ed

Having graduated in Mathematics from Oxford University, Ed’s forte is logic and problem solving. An experienced quizzer, he’s faced Paxman’s wrath on University Challenge, the black chair of Mastermind and the awesome Krypton Factor assault course. Luckily, Ed can give as good as he gets and often runs pub quiz evenings for various national charities.

Favourite London Fact: Between South Kensington and Knightsbridge, the Piccadilly curves wildly, to avoid a plague pit that the original engineers couldn’t dig through. It’s the perfect demonstration of how London’s past continues to affect its present and future.

Carly Vandenberg

Carly

Having graduated from Oxford in English Language and Literature, Carly began her career working with writers on shows like Doctor Who and Being Human, before branching out into communications. Along the way she has helped run treasure hunts at Oxford’s famous Ashmolean Museum and organised workshops at both the Barbican and London Festival of Architecture. Carly also volunteers as a tour guide at various London landmarks and works with Ed to create charity quizzes.

Favourite London Fact:The church of St Bartholomew the Great was reputedly founded by Henry I’s court jester – Rahere. It brings to mind a great mental image of a monk putting his hood back to reveal a tri-colour jester’s hat!

Working with charities

We believe in our responsibility to give something back to society, not just in London, but across the globe.

That’s why we work with charities wherever possible to boost their fundraising efforts, whether we’re donating raffle prizes, designing bespoke hunts or quizzes or, very occasionally, jumping off buildings.

If you are looking to run a charity event and you think we might be able to help, please contact us.
